Targeted Language Development

Deaf and Hard of Hearing students often experience language delays and deprivation due to lack of access to language within their environments. Whether spoken or signed, Deaf and Hard of Hearing students require targeted, direct instruction in natural language acquisition using normal language development as the guide. Thus, a variety of developmental language charts have been developed for use by Teachers of the Deaf and Speech-Language Pathologists.
