Historians with Heart: Using Historical Information to Develop the Whole DHH Child

Participants will utilize historical information on a student new to them to develop questions and identify next steps that incorporate whole-child development. Upon reviewing The Language Ladder along with eligibility criteria, participants will review and categorize existing data. Next, participants will determine gaps in the data and formulate questions that lead to next steps. Finally, participants will apply the Heart of the IEP Rubric to the student’s current or incoming IEP and explain areas in need of improvement.
